When I export using the 3ds max plugin I get rangeError. ( RangeError: #1125 )
If I remove the skin modifier and export are no problem, even skin modifier that no bones problem occurs. if large number of polygons are export error occurs?

Skinned meshes, with high amount of polygons and / or bones, needs to be split into small groups due to the hardware limitations to process these kind of meshes.

We do this at runtime for bones, but not for polygons, so a skinned mesh with high amount of triangles could fail.

This is a rare case, at least for games.
As a workaround, you can try setting a few material ID's and a Sub-Material on the mesh...even though these materials are the same material instance, it will force the engine to split the mesh into different smaller surfaces.
