Hi,

I was wondering how to best use the 3DS max exporter to make files as small as possible.
Of course we reuse same textures and materials and it works fine on that side.
BUT, and it is a real issue, we cannot seem to achieve full reuse of a same object. Example : If I have some scene with 50 time the same tree, is there a way that the exporter only store it once and duplicate ? It should lower the f3d file size a lot.
Right now we use references in 3ds max but it doesn't seem to work, does it ?
We notice a x2 or x3 size beetween our scenes and the same one with only one object of each type (which could be reused as reference in some f3d format I guess).

Any hint appreciated :)

Hi,

As you say, the current exporter doesn't support "instancing". This will be added in the next version of the exporter that should be released in a few weeks.

Cheers,
