Author Topic: Can F3D User Data be preserved in Flare3d Studio?  (Read 167 times)

Hi guys~
I add a "User Data" to an object and export it to f3d. Then I open the f3d file in Flare3d Studio and save the file. Then the "User Data" is just lost.
Can "User Data" be preserved when I save files in Flare3d Studio? and how? Thanks~

Hi,

Unfortunately, Flare Studio isn't currently preserving user data. This is a known issue, we'll try to fix it and release an update, but I can't give you any ETA at the moment.

Thank U Vodopiviz~
Another question, I heard that an update max plugin will be released. I want to add material layers in 3ds max material editor which can only be added in Flare3d Studio now (such as specular, normal map, etc). Can I manage this if using a new max plugin? thanks~

Hi,

We currently don't have plans to implement our own material editor into MAX. However, one of the new features of the updated exporter is the ability to include FLSL shaders (among other things, of course). This would enable you to write more complex materials than currently available.

Eventually, what we would like to have is the possibility of creating a material using Studio and then exporting it so you can use it directly into MAX.
