Author Topic: Issue with 3DStudio Max animations and making changes in Flare3D Studio  (Read 208 times)

I am having a lot of problems that I hope users/flare3d can help with. I have an animated character in 3D studio max that I am exporting via the Flare3D plugin. Issue I got is I'd like to do some changes to textures in the Studio but when I do any changes the animations are not saved. SO I then exported the .f3d directly from 3Dstudio max and make the changes to textures in code BUT the outputted .f3d from 3dStudio Max is massive as it doesnt seem to compress the animations like what the Studio export functions. The difference is massive and not usable on the we. 1mb vs. 43mb. Only other thing im going to try is to export animation seperate from 3d studio max and then try to append it to the output from the flare3d Studio. Can anyone help wit a better way!!! Cheers

Hi Stephen,

Are you sure the animations aren't saved? There's currently a bug in Flare Studio that doesn't export animation labels, but the animations themselves should be exported correctly.

Regarding file sizes, while Flare Studio generates smaller files, there shouldn't be such differences. Are you sure you're checking "Compress after export" in the Flare3D exporter settings?

When I export the .f3d file from 3d studio max and open it in flare3d studio i can move along the timeline and see the character move. I then do a Save As.. and close the Flare3d studio. When I re-open the saved file and move the timeline the animation is gone. At the moment it means I cant use the flare3d studio at all.
